Tourmaline
One of my favorite California specimens. This piece features unusual color zonation grading from a bight pink tip to a blue, to green, and back to pink. These were found several decades ago likely 1980’s at the Himalaya Mine and are very uncommon to come by now. There is a slight cats eye effect in the blue band. The termination is complex and a feldspar with small lepidolite is growing into the back of the top of the crystal. The body of the crystal is in great condition with a chip near the base where the tourmaline has a contact. The faces are striated with very bight luster. The specimen absolutely pops under case light. An outstanding American Tourmaline. Comes with custom acrylic base.
