Polylithionite on Aegirine
Amidst the many famous species from this most famous of Canadian locations, here is a sharp miniature from the Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire in Canada, consisting of a nice Polylithionite on an Aegirine crystal. The silvery, micaceous, Polylithionite rosette is like a flower in shape! It measures 3 cm across at its widest and is composed of numerous, thin, individual layers of slightly concave and stacked crystals that are set on, and penetrated by, a single striated, bladed, prismatic Aegirine crystal. The black-green Aegirine crystal is roughly terminated on the front end, but not at the rear. The piece is nicely balanced and sits well on its own for display as a superb, unusually beautiful, miniature. This is an exceptional and very attractive piece for the species that is complete all around! The piece came out of a private and significant rarities collection (anonymous for now, but will be given to buyer).
