Tourmaline (Schorl)
This super tall Schorl specimen was excavated personally by mineral collector John Durkos, who had collected the crystal in July of 1969. The termination is beautifully formed and sharp, but even more impressive is the fact that the bottom termination is complete as well, making this a particularly large doubly-terminated prism. The deep black color of the Schorl amplifies the remarkably good luster that this specimen has. If you're going to collect a Schorl specimen, this is the one to get: such great quality and size wrapped in one. This specimen comes with a custom acrylic base.
