Fine, single, broth-colored Mimetite crystal from the renowned Tsumeb Mine. The habit is classic, with smooth reflective faces comprising the hexagonal prism, and the flat termination modified by bevels along the edge. This is from the famous gem pocket — the style is immediately obvious. Not all of them were "gem" but rather many were translucent, as is this; although the form is very characteristic. This robust Mimetite presents well and is a good example of this well-known Tsumeb species. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 41102. Note: the ugly styrofoam shown in a photo has now been removed.
