Large, unheated Tanzanite crystal. This crystal is complete and double terminated, with an intact secondary (rider) crystal. Up at the top termination there is an easily visible phantom, where the crystal goes from heavily saturated to almost colorless, for the last few millimeters. Glassy luster at the top termination and throughout the body. Down at the base you will find a complex termination, with more earthy tones. This crystal shows red throughout the mid section when directly lit up the C-axis. Surprisingly, this crystal has no repairs or restorations. This is truly a remarkable example of the species.
