This richly crystallized Anglesite specimen is from the world famous Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Compared to Cerussite (lead carbonate), Anglesite (lead sulphate) is much rarer at the mine, but blocky individual frosted white crystals are sometimes seen. Well-formed glassy bladed Anglesite crystals are much rarer, making this an especially fine miniature specimen. Primary Galena (and perhaps some other sulphides) forms the core of this specimen which is partially oxidized and coated with excellent thin transparent freestanding orthorhombic bladed crystals reminiscent of Baryte. These crystals reach 8 mm in length. A very fine crystallized Tsumeb Anglesite.
