For most of my life I've only seen cut and polished malachite items of decor so coming into mineral collecting brought some revelations about natural malachite growth. Ian Bruce kindly gifted me this naturally-shaped specimen for laughs at the Denver 2024 show. Going through TSA in Miami International surely added to the stories I tell at dinner parties! Jokes aside, it's an stunning formation from the Star of the Congo mine.
