The colour of these Emerald crystals in matrix from Santa Terezinha de Goiás District in Brazil is really intense and at up to 2.5 cm in length they are a really excellent size - quite striking really. Compared to many from this region they are superb. They are not totally gemmy, but with good backlighting they are translucent and have a lovely glow to them. Their overall form is good, showing great hexagonal prismatic form, but they are naturally fractured horizontally in several places along their length due to tectonic geological forces, producing a slightly curved prism form. There are at least eight crystals visible, seven of long narrow form and one much shorter and broader. The whole specimen is miniature in size, but gives great impact as a display specimen of Emerald from Brazil.
