The Moscona Mine is an active fluorite mine in northern Spain at El Ponton de Solis in Corvera de Asturias, Asturias and is the main fluorite producer in Spain. It was registered as a mining concession in 1968 and later operated by the Minas de Miranda and Minersa companies, and is located in the Villabona mining area known for its Permo-Triassic sedimentary fluorite deposits. The mine produces high quality fluorite crystals, often yellow and cubic, along with associated minerals such as baryte, calcite, pyrite and others, and is well known among mineral collectors for its attractive specimens.
