Description
Here we have the gorgeous Wulfenite that the famous Rowley Mine is known for, but in a protected pocket! A combination of brilliant orange to reddish Wulfenite window panes on highly contrasting white matrix from this old lead and silver Mine in Arizona. This is a gorgeous small cabinet piece that has a central vug (pocket) in a white Baryte matrix containing at least two dozen glistening orange to orange-red, transparent window panes of Wulfenite from 3 mm to an amazing 2 cm! Looking into the vug and seeing several of the Wulfenite crystals edge on reveals a extraordinary red-orange color. All of the crystals have beveled edges characteristic of thin, pyramidal terminations. There are also smatterings of tiny, less than 1 mm, "creamsicle orange" Mimetite balls on the white Baryte at the interior of the vug. A beautiful Rowley Mine piece with excellent contrast and displayability! Purchased in 2017 from modern artisanal mining here, by Arizona specialist Bruce Murphy.
