Schorl
Erongo Mountain in Namibia is well known for producing fine mineral specimens including Schorl, Beryl var. Aquamarine and Fluorite. This very large miniature specimen of Schorl, a type of tourmaline, is a really fine example of it crystal form and seems to me at least, to be very good value. Several quite large (to 3.5 cm in length), short prismatic Schorl crystals are aggregated together as a 'floater'. The crystals are complete all round, and appear to be free from any contact damage with a fine glossy appearance and black colour. Surface pitting caused by natural dissolution of inclusions is evident, but does not detract from the fine overall form of these crystals.
