Editor's note
Very intense color, no visible damage and perfect shape for a botryoidal (round, grape-shaped) crystal. We are used to crystals being sharp, having distinct edges in their geometry. Botryoidal, rounded crystals introduce a different way of admiring nature's beauty. Their formations are arguably more complex and remind us of natural phenomena like clouds, waves and sand dunes.

Description

A fine, and colourful large miniature Hemimorphite from the one of the world's premier localities - Sa Duchessa mine, Sardinia, Italy. The intensity of the blue colouration in the copper-rich Hemimorphite from Sa Duchessa mine is almost unparalleled and so distinctive and attractive. This fine specimen is really great colour - not as dark or intense as some, but this is reflected in the price. It also shows the classic colour banding, or zoning, in cross-section where the botryoidal crust is broken along the edges of the specimen. This banding is rarely seen in other world occurrences and adds to its character. A super European classic, large, and colourful enough for display.
