TAUSONITE with LAMPROPHYLLITE and Aegirine
I have to be honest and say, if this specimen were entering a Beauty and the Beast contest, it would sit more comfortably in the latter! Many a rare species is not blessed with great aesthetics, but then beauty is only skin deep, or in this, a few surface atoms deep! Studying this large miniature, I cannot differentiate between the Tausonite or Lamprophyllite. Tausonite is a strontium titanium oxide or strontium titanate and Lamprophyllite, a really complex titanium silicate containing strontium, barium, potassium, sodium, iron, manganese and fluorine.\n
