This is an outstanding specimen of the well-known jackstraw Cerussites from the Flux Mine in Arizona AND it's on matrix! The slender, bright white Cerussite crystals have an excellent, pearlescent luster, and some actually exceed 3 cm in length, which is impressive. The Cerussites occur as divergent sprays and bundles of lightly striated crystals that aesthetically grace the two-toned matrix which in itself is unusual for Flux Mine Cerussite! The majority of the crystals sit on the contrasting and desirable, ash gray (possibly manganese oxide-rich) matrix and some on the brick-red gossan matrix. This is a very fine example of old-time Flux Mine material. Cerussites from here are a highly desirable Arizona classic from the mid 1900s and dramatic specimens of this quality are rarely available. Ex. Matt McGill, Rock Currier (#4412) and Sam Nassar. Due to its fragility, this piece needs to be picked up or have hand delivery arranged. Ex. Matt McGill, Rock Currier and Sam Nasser collections.
