This specimen is an impressive example of the characteristic minerals from the Elmwood Mine. The sphalerite forms the basis of this piece and is characteristically dark and shiny, showing a fascinating reflection when exposed to light. The surface of the sphalerite is smooth and gives the entire specimen an elegant appearance. The real attraction sits enthroned on this dark, shiny base: several beautifully crystallized fluorite cubes that have grown harmoniously into one another.
The centerpiece of this piece is undoubtedly the arrangement of the fluorite crystals, which intertwine aesthetically and offer a fascinating sight. The large, cube-shaped crystals are presented in vibrant shades of color and display perfect translucency. The cubes almost seem to melt into one another, creating a harmonious yet dynamic structure. The delicate zoning and color transitions within the crystals create a visual depth that is particularly spectacular in the light.
In this piece, the fluorite formation is concentrated exclusively on the upper end of the mineral, which makes the piece particularly aesthetic. The perfect formation of the fluorite crystals and their symmetrical growth make the piece appear almost like a natural sculpture.
