Dioptase from the famous 1980s finds at Tsumeb are highly treasured and this is a rich specimen with amazing color. The bright, dark emerald green crystals are particularly glassy and sprinkled all over a mounded white Calcite matrix for perfect contrast. The scintillating Dioptase crystals are like emerald green sugar richly distributed on a beautiful rolling matrix to make this long, colorful horizontal display plate sparkle. It is a beautiful small cabinet piece from the mid 1980s heyday of Dioptase finds at Tsumeb. This piece has probably hundreds of crystals and is nearly pristine.
