This gemmy, to translucent-opaque, raspberry-pink to red crystal of Elbaite tourmaline with a pastel green phantom comes from the famous Cruzeiro mine in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. At 4.8 cm tall and with a characteristic three-faced termination this really is a quality classic specimen from this mine. Parallel growth is also evident on the prism faces. Two additional tourmaline crystals in parallel position have grown at 45 degrees to the main crystals and a platy crystal of white Albite adds extra contrast. A lovely miniature from Cruzeiro mine.
