CC20120QUARTZ var. Sceptre Amethyst$250.00
Editor's note
Perfect item for a quartz collection, it is hard to believe but this crystal is neither cut nor polished but formed like this. Like cubic pyrite, most people who see a scepter shape for the first time think this is man-made. Can't blame them as the faces are smooth, the edges are sharp and the shape is perfect. This should arguably come with a slightly larger base to stand on its own, luckily amethyst is very easy to re-mount on a different base.

Description
A gorgeous sceptred Amethyst Quartz from the Chiredzi mining district in Masvingo, Zimbabwe. The double terminated Sceptre head is a complex mix of colourless (Rock Crystal) and purple (Amethyst) Quartz, itself draped over a milky-Quartz hexagonal prism. The sceptre-head has great transparency, interrupted only by the density of tadpole-like wispy inclusions and micro-granular sulphides. This delightful small miniature is mounted sub-vertically on a small colourless acrylic base.
