A strikingly rich specimen of acicular, lustrous Mimetite crystals to over 1 cm almost completely mask a small matrix of pink and grey Dolomitic. From the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, the colour of the mimetite is intense and ranges from deep tangerine-lemon glassy crystals through to opaque creamy-tangerine towards the roots of the crystals; as seen from one side. The Mimetite crystals are perfectly terminated; partly gemmy to semi-transparent and have a high, almost metallic lustre. A beautiful and very showy Mimetite from Tsumeb.
