A wonderfully aesthetic combination of Rhodochrosite and Quartz from the famous, and remote, Huayllapon mine in Peru. An already attractive bed of 3 to 4 cm long, clear, needle Quartz crystals play host to several pink translucent rhombic crystals of Rhodochrosite, the largest to 1.7 cm across. The Rhodochrosite crystals are concentrated at one area of the specimen, with the Quartz crystals forming a 'hedgehog' like array. A really lovely large miniature specimen that cries out to be on display.
