One important classic mineral find in Europe was the rare hydrated cobalt arsenate Erythrite, at the Schneeberg mines in the Saxony silver mining region of Germany. This rich little specimen has a nice three-dimensional group of metallic cobalt-pink Erythite crystals to about 5 mm high emerging from an open vug in a Quartz veinstone matrix. The Erythite forms acicular flattened blades which vary from transparent and quite gemmy to opaque flamingo-pink. This is a delightful miniature Erythite from the region of Schneeberg, the type locality of this species.
