FLUORAPATITE
An intergrown group of blocky Fluorapatite crystals, the largest to 3.5 x 2.8 x 1.7 cm and all highly reflective with a bright glassy lustre. The Fluorapatite is colourless but does have a slight greenish cast. The crystals in this off-matrix specimen are shot through with needles of what is likely to be Rutile, based on terminations seen at x35 under the microscope. There may also be inclusions of the Amphibole variety 'Byssolite', but this requires further study. A beautiful Fluorapatite group from the Tormiq valley in the Haramosh Mountains of Pakistan.

Origin: Tormiq Valley, Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
