Description
A stunning Tourmaline crystal of wonderful colour and with a perfect termination from Nuristan Province in Afghanistan. The single crystal measures 4.3 x 1.3 x 1.0 cm and is of a magnificent turquoise-green aqua-blue with many gemmy zones and of overall good transparency. The crystal does contain various types of inclusions and wispy flaws when observed against a good light. The prism faces are deeply striated and the termination is that of a flattened pyramid with slightly frosted termination faces with lustrous flattened edges in between. Attached to one side of the Tourmaline is a 2.6 x 1.5 x 1.0 cm cluster of slightly smoky Quartz crystals, with a few prism and termination faces present. This is a choice specimen of blue Tourmaline.
