Fluorapophyllite with Stilbite$4,250.00

This is a superb, lustrous, translucent, salmon-pink, "bow tie" of Stilbite from the traprock quarries in Jalgaon, India. Although the material is common in principle on the market, the form and color of this piece are spectacular! Totally common as a Zeolite species, totally typical in classic bowtie form; and yet of absolute superb quality with much more color and three-dimensionality than usual... it is those extra bits of quality that make it stand out from all of the other Stilbite specimens out there. This was in the Sandor Fuss collection in the 1990s, sold out in 2003 (one of the best collections ever assembled, in simply quality per piece). The bow-tie also has two smaller, sprays of Stilbite growing essentially perpendicular to it augmenting its appeal. Colorless to translucent white, clusters of perfectly formed Fluorapophyllite crystals grace the base and left side of the piece for ultimate aesthetics. Some of the Fluorapophyllites are tinted green by Celadonite inclusions and spherical aggregates of Celadonite can be seen intergrown with the Fluorapophyllite on the left side. This is truly a well balanced and composed piece, far better than average. Ex. Sandor Fuss collection.
