Classic for Utah, these bright blue Azurite clusters, on Malachite, show particularly well. Spherical, these clusters of royal-to-navy blue Azurite have excellent luster and really sparkle in the light. They range up to 2 cm across, and richly populate the matrix. The contrast with the Malachite in both color and texture make the two species quite complementary, and add significantly to the aesthetics. Factor in the considerable size of this cabinet-size specimen, and it is easy to classify this piece as exceptional. From the early 1990s finds, purchased in Tucson in 1996.
