Adamite var. Cuprian$1,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This is a splendid, scintillating specimen composed of clusters of translucent green Cuprian Adamite from the Christiana Mine in Lavrion, and of a very aesthetic and elegant style found just once. The piece sparkles like glass, and is so immediately different from Adamite from either Mexico or Tsumeb, but at first you would not think it to be Greek... it is too good! But this pocket produced incredible examples of this apple green Cuprian Adamite, of which this fine small cabinet piece was held back when the pocket was sold to us and others, years ago. Forming as a cast around a long-gone matrix, the translucent-to-gemmy Adamites have superb luster, and it's the classic chisel-point terminations that give the piece its exceptional sparkle. Fine aesthetics and quality, this stands out in any collection and is more than just a locality piece. It was collected in 2018. We bought this Greek collection, assembled over decades, in large part for the amazing Adamite and Smithsonite suites.
