Description
This combination specimen features a spray of lustrous, showy ilvaite leaping out from a nesting of green, hedenbergite-included quartz crystals. The ilvaite is complete all around, with crystals to 4 cm in height (though they go down a bit deeper into a pocket). The quartz provides a highly desirable (and rarely seen) color contrast, and have come to be considered the classic association for the best matrix ilvaite from this mine. This piece is very dramatic, in person, and is an excellent example for the new finds here
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
