For classic old rubies from Macedonia, this is a giant, 62 gram complete ruby. These have an interesting hot pink-red color, and the crystal shape and color together is immediately recognizable. However, we seldom see them so big and well formed. Old labels say Prislep, mindat.org today says to go with Prilep, on the location spelling. Interestingly, this piece also fluoresces differently under long-wave vs. short-wave fluorescent lighting, as shown in the video complimenting this wonderful specimen.
