A SUPERBLY aesthetic "cross" of two gem heliodor crystals SUPPOSEDLY from the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan. The heliodor crystals have beautiful color, outstanding gemminess and the doubly terminated horizontal "cross," with two parallel-growth crystals, is incredibly aesthetic. This COMPETITION-QUALITY thumbnail was formerly in the collection of elite thumbnail collector, Allan Young. Allan has won the Desautels Trophy at the Tucson Show for the "Best Rocks" with his thumbnail collection. Tajikistan heliodors are generally believed to be Pakistan aquamarines that have been treated to change/enhance their color to what you see, and that the locality doesn't really exist as such except as a cover story (per my friends in Russian museums). Hence, I label it Pakistani by my choice in acknowledgement of this problem on the market.
