This is an old Pierrepont tourmaline, and just a terrific one! The crystal is complete all around, viewable from 360 degrees, and has this unique non-prismatic form characteristic of this classic American locality. A cluster of quartz crystals forms a pretty contrasting matrix for the tourmaline to sit upon.
