Elbaite Tourmaline

An aesthetic crossed pairing of two, lustrous, green Elbaite Tourmaline crystals from the famous Pederneira Mine in Brazil. The two Elbaite crystals are almost identical in size and characteristics and are connected one on top of the other about two-thirds of the way up their length. The crystals are a rich, transparent, medium green with noticeably interesting striations. One end of each crystal is terminated by flat blue-capped tips; and by multiple complex terminations at the other end. The transparent blue cap on each is about 3 mm thick and very apparent. The "multiple" terminations that comprise the other end of each crystal are quite unusual and add a distinctive character to the piece that compliments the opposing blue caps. There are some slender Tourmaline crystals in parallel growth on both crystals and there are several small, gemmy, variably terminated Tourmaline crystals present at the intersection of the crystals. There are two professionally done repairs/restorations on the piece and they are almost invisible, they're so good. The shape and symmetry of this specimen make it stand out in a crowd, and obviously it conveys dramatically when in a showcase.
