Barite roses in miniature, delicate clusters like this one (12 cm, Hailey locality) and others shown in this article come only from outcrops within the Garber Sandstone. Such delicate clusters are crushed by overburden in erosional lag deposits. The two portions of this sample are bridged by greenish brown masses of limonite that are thought to be the oxidized remnants of framboidal pyrite or other iron sulfide.
