Lustrous colorless crystallized hemimorphite coming off matrix. This is classic material for the species and locality. In good condition with very minimal damage present. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video dates to the very early 20th century.Mining in Franklin and Sterling Hill, New Jersey began in the 19th century and focused on large zinc deposits hosted in Precambrian marble. The Franklin and nearby Sterling Hill mines became major producers of zinc ore for many decades. The district is famous for its unusual mineralogy, with more than 350 mineral species identified.
