Rhodochrosite and Fluorite on Quartz$1,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
The Sunnyside Mine group in Colorado is well-known for its attractive and appealing pink rhodochrosite rhombohedral crystals, a softer pastel pink than their brethren from the Sweet Home Mine elsewhere in Colorado. These are old classics now, as no modern workings were developed here in the pursuit of specimens, again unlike the SHM. Here, the sharp, well-formed rhodochrosite crystals reach a satisfying size of 1 cm. They are associated with transparent, colorless fluorite crystals to 9 mm, all set on a white, crystalline, quartz-covered matrix. This is a classic and aesthetic combination, and the bright lavender fluorescence of the fluorites adds real pop to the piece. Previously in the collection of Rolf Wein, to John Stolz in the early 2000s. A refined example from this important and historic locale.
