Quartz "Herkimer Diamonds"
This is a dramatic example of the classic American quartz specimens known as “Herkimer Diamonds”. Clustered in a gorgeous, 360-degree tower made up of gem clear, modified quartz crystals, it is perfection all around, with a nice visual and physical balance to it. Unlike most, it stands up nicely and vertically on its own, starting with the largest, 3.5 cm quartz as the base. Mining these beauties can be difficult, so it is safe to assume that these great specimens have had some amount of expert repair (whether they did or not, they are often stabilized anyhow, so it is best to assume all Herkimer clusters are repaired - and is acceptable in context). This wonderful cluster was previously in the renowned Jack Halpern collection before we exchanged it from him around 2010 and sold it (now, it is back for a second time). Better in person, this is spectacular for the size and balance as a full miniature. Comes with a custom lucite base.
