Erythrite on Quartz$7,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This specimen of a rare cobalt-containing species from the noted collection of the late German collector Paul Stahl is a stellar example of erythrite because it shows off a gorgeous, metallic, freestanding cluster of crystals to 4 cm, hanging off a natural pedestal of quartz matrix. This matrix protects it, as well; and serves as a pedestal for handling the otherwise delicate cluster. The piece sits flat, as displayed. This is such an unlikely specimen for this material, where most pieces form tightly packed groups, and crystals tend to be flat laying on matrix or shooting up - but smaller. These crystals reach 4 cm! This is a display quality example of a very rare species that simply stands above most others. Paul sadly passed away, but we believe he obtained this from the 1990s production brought out by the great French dealer Francois Lietard, with whom he did much business at the time. The odds of seeing such a freestanding cluster of this gorgeous magenta-colored metallic species are...vanishingly small. Seeing such a cluster perched on quartz is simply unprecedented.
