Zoisite var. Tanzanite
No repairs. No damage. Just over 5 inches of gemmy tanzanite crystal, that simply sparkles in minimal backlighting! This unlikely, tall, elongated crystal is surprisingly intact. Also, it is a cluster with multiple terminations instead of the normal single style. Lastly, it has purple-facing-forward, with blue on the narrow side axis: the opposite of most tanzanites as we display them as collectors. The colorful purple-forward side has lots of internal sparkling that throws off red and purple light flecks, as well. It is just "bright" in a way that may large tanzanites are simply not. This is difficult to explain by words, but obvious in person. Also, because it is so slender, it displays without the kind of strong backlighting that most large tanzanite crystals would need in a showcase or museum, making this a bargain in terms of display impact for the size; and without need of trick lighting to get it to glow with color. Normally something of this size would have repairs of some kind. I was very surprised when I first saw this in a group of mine-fresh pieces in 2024. But it is real. It is so unique in so many ways, and has so much presence for the size and look of it, especially at under 6 figures in price. I cannot recall the last time I had a tanzanite of this size that did not need a torch underneath or behind it to show off the colors, because they usually get thicker with height.
