If memory serves, these unusual pyrrhotite crystals came out in a small pocket sometime around 2015-2018, and remain the best examples of the species from this famous polymetallic mine known to collectors all over the world since the 1990s. While the mine has produced so many species, this surprised us because of the sharp quality and simplicity of the pure crystals, without association or combination to the mix of other sulfide species here. Now rarely seen, these only turn up in a few collections of those of us who were buying Chinese minerals at the time (and this is a release from my own collection - I kept it, thinking to have one of everything from YGX at the time). While there are bigger, sparklier, different pyrrhotite from other locations, this still stands out and is such a superb miniature-sized specimen of species. I have seen a few turn up in China, actually, where the thumbnail-sized versions are treasured among the growing crop of thumbnail collectors there and in Japan. However, these really did not get large and this full miniature is actually one of the largest of its type that I am aware of.
