The May Sand and Stone Quarry in Fort Wayne, Indiana has produced some of the best yellow fluorites in the USA. The best of them have transparency and this classic honey yellow color, not too dark nor too light - unique in the world! This is a very nice large miniature piece hosting ten gemmy, pale yellow, perfect fluorite cubes on a limestone matrix. The super sharp fluorite crystals range from to 2.4 cm in size and they are so transparent that you can see right through these golden yellow jewels to the matrix underneath. As pristine as you can ask, these date to a single large pocket zone collected in 1969-1971 and this was found in 1970 by Henry Fisher, Rob's mentor in Columbus, Ohio - and comes from his collection which we recently purchased from the family. The fluorites fluoresce yellow under short-wave UV and violet with bright yellow cores in long-wave UV! We rarely see these available on the market, let alone in major collections of Midwest U.S. minerals. This matrix seems to be made of fossilized coral, as well.
