This is an older French fluorite from old finds with a rich yellow interior and a dark blue-purple exterior from Valzergues in France. This color zoning made them famous from the finds of the 1970s-1980s here. It features a sharp, prominent, 4.4 cm, zoned crystal at the top with a few smaller crystals clustered near the base. The large crystal shows a yellow center with a rich blue-purple rim and sharp layers and phantoms within that are less than 1 mm thick that are largely restricted to the top. There are four other crystals that make up the rest of this attractive piece and vary in size from 1.5 to 2.5 cm and they also display the yellow core with the blue exterior. The large crystal shows contacting on one side from other fluorites as does one at the bottom and then two of the other crystals each have a compromised corner. Most of these were collected with some damage and wear like this one, but this one has no repairs or restorations and should be considered fairly significant in that regard. This is a rare style, and good specimens are rarely on the market.
