BARYTE
There are few places in the world that have produced gemmy amber coloured Baryte crystals and of those that have, each has its own distinct crystal form making them instantly recognizable. In Germany, the Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine in Saxony has provided some of the world's best, with incredibly gemmy, intensely amber-orange coloured wedge-shaped crystals, often rising up as individual crystals on matrix. This larger cabinet-sized display specimen presents striking amber Baryte crystals, with bright internal reflections, across several sides of the specimen. These crystals reach over 2 cm in length and most are in perfect condition. Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine is now a tourist mine and so the days of mineral specimens being collected are long gone. Ex Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) Collection.
