FLUORITE with CHALCOPYRITE
Orange, or at least orange of this particular shade is an usual colour for Fluorite crystals. Beihilfe mine in the Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany is well-known for spectacular crystals of Fluorite, many of which are beautifully colour-zoned and often extremely glassy. This exceptionally large display specimen is not thin, but thin enough that light transmits through it to produce a stunning fiery orange glow. Sparse small Chalcopyrite crystals are dotted over a few of the Fluorite crystals, but it is really the Fluorite on its own that sells this piece, and with crystals to over 5.5 cm on edge these are a pretty impressive size too. With strong backlighting this specimen will provide an amazing display.
