A superb MATRIX wulfenite thumbnail with large crystal from the Rowley - both a large crystal from this mine, and large in the sense that it is balanced on matrix proportionately, as a space-filling thumbnail sized specimen. The large crystal is 1.7 cm long, freestanding, undamaged, complete all around. Minor bright red mimetite accents it. This is just an exquisite piece - it looks like a painting, in person. Note that few wulfenites with crystals of this size have a composition and balance to be competitive thumbnails, making this all the more rare in the context of a display TN collection. Alex was extremely proud of his Rowley suite, engaged in self collecting there when he could, and obtained by his close relations with the mine owners many fine specimens (including a number of the best TNs) in a window between about 2012-15.
