New material from China, from a region we had never seen fluorite before, this started coming to market in the early 2020s and has continued to ebb and flow for a few years. Large specimens of this size and consistent rich grape-jelly color, without damage, continue to be rare amongst a crowd. This stepped cube is heavily stepped and patterned (like a Borg ship, for us Star Trek fans). Most such specimens are not fully complete, nor fully translucent throughout, making this exceptional. Online and in videos, we see many specimens that in person have pale color and pale luster (helped by nasty oil that is hard to remove well); but I bought our specimens on the ground in China as they came out, and lab-cleaned ourselves to ensure we do not have an oiling problem. No damage to the main display face, which is unusual for the size.
