Mimetite
1971 saw the one-time discovery of a fabulous mimetite pocket appropriately known as the 'Gem Pocket'. This small thumbnail from there, a single crystal with a smidgen of matrix, perfectly exemplifies why these are considered the world's best. The hexagonal barrel is sharp and lustrous, which complements the soft yellow color of the GEMMY interior. The termination is perfect, with a smooth flat surface and narrow, sharp, equally mirror-like bevels. On scale, this is a very fine, aesthetic example of this famous pocket.
