A small, but classic Cassiterite from Wheal Fortune (aka Great Wheal Fortune) at Breage, Cornwall. This very large thumbnail to very small miniature comprises a thin piece of the classic killas matrix upon which many small, but very glossy, dark brown Cassiterite crystals sit. These crystals reach 4 mm in length and although some are damaged, others are really fine, including two twinned crystals. Under magnification the internal gemminess can be seen, with some crystals showing bright golden internal colour. Ex Malcolm Southwood Collection, no. MS 1999.042.
