Bright violet Amethyst crystals with nice terminations and no damage, atop light pink somewhat chalky Rhodochrosite layer. Rhodochrosite appears as light pink wet lustrous & 1mm rosettes that can be seen under a 10x loupe or closeup photography (see picture 2). Obtained from Crystal Classics in 2023 at the Tucson Gem Show at the opening of their Tucson Fine Mineral Gallery. Specimen contains an older label on back #1541, unidentified previous owner. From Crystal Classics: "It came from an Austrian collector...only thing to note is that he didn’t have any labels/numbers on his pieces so it must have been in a collection previous to his which would have been dating back prior to 1970".
