Sillimanite
Although sillimanite is a relatively common rock forming mineral and forms crude, often whitish, opaque, poorly formed crystals in metamorphic rocks, it is so rare to occur as gem crystals let alone gem pebbles as in Mogok, Myanmar (Burma). This spectacular thumbnail is translucent, super lustrous, three-dimensional and actually displays quite well. I am inclined to fully trust Charlie about its significance in the absence of anything to compare it to out there. Charlie Key was very impressed with this rare gem crystal of sillimanite many years ago when he told me it was the best one he had ever seen. Charlie indicated that for combination of size and form it was the best he had seen from anywhere; and this is from India. I simply have not seen comparables...they are that rare, in sharp quality and size!
