Hydroboracite
From a late 2011 find, at this inactive old mine, these are just incredible crystals for the species that reset all expectations! These hydroboracite crystals are large, transparent to translucent and have incredible luster to them. This is a significant cluster with crystals to an amazing four inches in length! All of the crystals in this cluster are large and they actually resemble a group of Selenite crystals from Naica! It's hard to relate to other generally small and dull-luster examples of this species I have seen from other localities. It was a very surprising and significant find for rarities that appeared at the 2012 Tucson Show. This was one of the larger specimens with good crystals, for awhile at home in the Paul Stahl collection (specialized on rare species). This is a rich and very bright specimen, that is gorgeous, especially for a rare species!
