Fluorite
Fluorite crystals from the north of England have been treasured by collectors for hundreds of years for their outstanding beauty and unusual properties. One of these properties is ‘daylight fluorescence’, where ultraviolet radiation from sunlight causes crystals of fluorite to change from green to violet. This excellent specimen of gemmy twinned fluorite crystals on quartz from the Diana Maria mine is a fine example of this.
